Workshops to enhance academic writing

Writing Designs delivers writing workshops that offer a unique hands-on approach to academic and research writing. Our workshops build the skill sets of individual writers, while also addressing the issues that scholars experience as they build a career and a publication profile.

Our goal is to design writing practices that assist individuals to write quality doctorates and to achieve publication in high quality refereed journals. In the longer term, our workshops ultimately provide universities with enhanced research capacity and a vibrant writing culture.

Participants are guided by Emeritus Professor Barbara Kamler, a recognized expert in the field. They benefit from her well theorized approach to writing and her commitment to addressing both the technical challenges and the identity issues that academic writers face.
