Memoir writing
Time to reflect
Have you always wanted to write about your life but not given it time or space?
Are you nervous about how to get started? How to create lively writing with heart?
How to make your writing interesting to yourself and others?
The Memoir Writing workshop series offers you structured time and space and the opportunity to work with an expert researcher and teacher of writing. You will be given strategies for writing about your life experiences and will be mentored throughout the process. You will also be able to shape your writing with the support of a group of writers focused on the same task.
The workshops
The goal of the eight week Memoir Writing workshop series is to produce 15-20 pages on one event, person or slice of your life, which is reflective, detailed and written from your own specific angle.
You will be able to recover and rediscover your memories so that they can be brought to life within your writing. You will learn to be selective and to present your own personal account.
Each workshop will include feedback on the writing that participants have done since the previous session. Participants will also review some published memoirs by well-known writers to analyse and experiment with their techniques.
This is your chance to write your own meaningful memoir.
The Memoir Writing workshops are only held in Melbourne. Venue details and dates will soon be advised.
